Visit Mexico – Info & Tips

By Patricia Ann Talley, Founder & Editor

I came to Mexico 23 years ago to conduct research for a doctorate degree in economics. I STAYED in Mexico because, for the first time in my life as a black female, I felt a sense of freedom that I never experienced before in my home country of the USA.

As I have often said, “Once you have tasted the sweet joy of freedom, why would you ever go back?” This sentiment is reflected in a new trend in the travel industry. Black Americans are visiting foreign countries to explore new places to live. Black travel groups, black Expat groups, black millennial groups, black female groups, etc. are forming to give advice about traveling and living abroad.

According to an article in TIME magazine, research indicates that over the past three years, the intent of African Americans to travel abroad rose 3 percentage points, then 6, and now 19 percentage points this year. Now, more than ever, black Americans will be traveling internationally. Millennials, who can work online from anywhere, are exploring the world. Couples are seeking safety for their children. Retirees are looking for a better life and can take advantage of lower living costs abroad.

Search Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, or other Social Media, to find a barrage of new Black travel groups and agencies.

Visit MEXICO!

Mexico is one of the most culturally diverse countries on earth. Mexico refers to Africans as the “Third Root” of the country’s indigenous, European, and African heritage.

Over the years, I have collaborated with researchers, writers, artists, and others to tell you stories about my adopted country that are compiled in this publication. I have tried, with all sincerity, to be an English voice for the people.

Imagine-Mexico contains sections on Travel, History & Traditions, Food, Nature & Wellness, Art & Music, plus information and advice for Expats.

So, while you are at home waiting for the travel industry to re-open, we invite EVERYONE to explore online and learn more about Mexico, its people, and its various travel destinations.

In 2018, I became a dual citizen. So, I extend a personal invitation to you – Visit Mexico!
