Language is the Most Powerful Tool for Building Relationships
Language is the most powerful tool for communication between people, families, communities, and nations. According to records collated from the database Ethnologue, there are at least 7,102 known languages spoken in the world today. Twenty-three of these languages are the mother tongue of over 50 million people.
The languages of the world have been beautifully illustrated by an infographic, designed by Alberto Lucas Lopéz, the graphics director for the South China Morning Post. It shows the most spoken known languages in the world and where they’re spoken by the 6.3 billion people included in the study.
Most Countries in the World Speak English, French or Spanish
The Chinese dialects are spoken by a very large number of people in the world, there are more countries in the world that speak English, French and Spanish. This is due to their common history of colonialization.
English is the Most Spoken Language in the World
English continues to be the most spoken language in the world. It is spoken in 110 countries. Arabic is spoken in 60 countries. French, Chinese, and Spanish are among the world’s most spoken languages.
English continues to be the language of international business. It is the language most popular language being learned around the world.
English will still get you a long way around the world – but, to learn and engage with other people and other cultures you need to learn languages!!!
