Master Charles Kim and Jennifer Kim from the Peace School of Chicago are repeat visitors in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, Mexico. They send this message to the people of Mexico and to the world.

“In times of unexpected conditions, it is important to pay attention to your personal peace and wellness so that you can approach the situation with greater emotional control. We do not live isolated lives. We are all part of one world. As such, it is important that we consider the impact of our individual lives on our families, neighbors, the society in which we live, and throughout the world. We can see how large global incidents can impact the individual, but we generally are not aware that the opposite is also true: each of us can impact the world.

This brings us to the topic of energy – the energy we create through our thought, words, and actions. In times of unrest or crisis, wouldn’t it be better to respond calmly? We can easily become overwhelmed. Instead of worrying, let’s use this time to think of World Peace and express it in our lives.”

Yoga & Peace Retreats in Mexico

Plans are underway for annual Yoga & Peace Retreats with Jennifer and Master Kim in Mexico.

Master Kim gave classes for Yoga for Peace on the beaches of Ixtapa Zihuatanejo in February 2020. Plans are underway for annual Peace & Yoga Retreats.

“We care about Mexico and want to do whatever we can to help our beautiful neighbor. We are touched by the warmth and kindness of the people. Mexico and the United States have very close ties and we have to lift up toward peace together. We are happy to share Peace Yoga, especially with Peace Breathing, to help people experience the energy of peace within themselves and expand the energy of peace in the region.”

More About the Peace School:

Master Charles Kim is President of The Peace School a non-profit educational organization founded in Chicago in 1972. A lifelong meditator, Master Kim is a 9th-degree black belt in Traditional Tae Kwon Do and teaches these classes, as well as Peace Yoga, and Peace Breathing Meditation. He shares some of his engaging stories in his book, Peace Breathing: Lessons on Achieving Peace in Everyday Life (Amika Press 2012).

Jennifer Kim chairs the Chicago Build the Peace Committee which was formed in 2008. She is a Director of The Peace School with which she has been affiliated for more than 40 years. The Peace School founded Peace Day in Chicago in 1978. Jennifer also co-chairs the Education Peace Team of the United Nations NGO Committee for the International Day of Peace.
