Young People Take Action!

By the Kids of Rancho Nuevo Juluchuca (with a little help from their teachers)

Hi! We are kids who live in the town of Rancho Nuevo Juluchuca. It is near Petatlán, Guerrero. We live near the beach and we love the water.

Lots of us are learning how to surf. Normally, we are outside on the beach as soon as we finish school and our homework.

But there is a problem. Our teachers tell us that the plastic and garbage that people throw away are hurting the ocean and killing our planet.

And in our community, we always burned the garbage, but that creates a lot of smoke that is bad for the environment.

So, with a little help from our teachers, we decided to help save our planet! We drew art and signs to help teach our community about recycling!

Early this year, we had a pep rally to get everyone excited about the project.

Then, we went to work to paint signs to put all around our town. We want to show our art to you.

Everyone, even little kids like us can help to save our planet!
