WOW! We had a wonderful time in Acapulco

By Don and Monterey of Maryland, USA

We are world travelers and have lived abroad for several years, first in Panama, and now in Zihuatanejo, Mexico. We love to travel and explore new places, and we’re curious about the state of Guerrero with its diverse mixture of people and cultures.

Patricia Ann Talley, Editor of
Imagine-Mexico.com invited us to tour Acapulco.

So, at the invitation of Imagine-Mexico.com, we recently went to Acapulco, Guerrero, to attend the grand opening of the Hutsson Hotel and to take a tour of this historic port city. Acapulco was once famous as a vacation spot of the stars, but we wanted to see what is NEW in Acapulco.

All details of our transportation, hotel, tour, and activities were coordinated by Ricardo Santiago, Director of Mex-Primero Meeting Planners. We had a private, air-conditioned van for eight people, along with a wonderful driver and tour guide. The company can arrange for private group transportation between Zihuatanejo, Acapulco, Troncones, San Miguel de Allende, and other vacation spots by request.

“We stayed at the Hutsson Hotel. It is first-rate all the way! I’d rate it 5 stars. Newly redecorated rooms right on the beach. The food was great! It’s right in the center of town.” – Don

Day 1 – Beach, Food, Drinks, Party!

Our group was made up of folks from Canada, Mexico, and the USA. Upon arrival, we immediately went to the beach.

In the evening, we went to the hotel’s gala dinner to celebrate their grand opening. We met people from all over the world! It was really an elegant night! On the beach, overlooking the stars, with wonderful entertainment and food.

Day 2 – City Tour, Shopping & Casino Night

Our same driver, along with an English-speaking tour guide, picked us up early the next morning to take us on a tour of the city. We stopped to see the famous cliff divers.

We also went to the new mask museum, where there are masks from Africa, Asia, and from throughout the state of Guerrero. We learned about how Spanish shipping routes brought Africans and Asians into the port of Acapulco, resulting in the diversity of the area today.

What a great time! We plan to go back again with more friends.

I took all the photos and videos! – Monterey
