The World Belongs to Us Too!
By Said Rojas (translated by Patricia Ann Talley, Editor)
My name is Ángel Said Calderón Rojas. I am 34 years old. I am originally from the small town of Teteles de Ávila Castillo in the state of Puebla. I now live in Zihuatanejo, Guerrero with my wife and two young sons.
My passion is capturing photos of insects, flowers, etc. This started at a young age when my grandmother would take me and my brother into the forest each season to collect fresh fruits. She would prepare sweet jams from the fruit. For me, every trip was an adventure to look at the flora and fauna and the insects. I still have fond memories of those experiences.
Every time we went on an adventure, it was very nice to look at some insects, listen to the songs of the birds, and see the squirrels jumping from tree to tree. That is how I acquired a taste for capturing those moments.
I work as a groundskeeper and have a small family business making homemade ice cream. As I go through my day, I always stop for a few moments to connect with nature and take photos to share with my family and friends.
I am excited to have this opportunity to share my work. I hope you enjoy my photographic exhibition of the Little Creature on Earth!
