Participate in Morelia’s Orchid Festival to Conserve the Natural Heritage of Mexico 

Every October, the International Orchid Festival (Festival Internacional De La Orquídea) is held in the city of Morelia, Michoacán. The main activities of this festival are art, culture, peace, ecology, sports, gastronomy and fashion.

Participate to Promote Peace & Conservation

The festival is  a special event for the community and for all international travelers.

The main objective of the Orchid Festival is to promote individual participation in conserving the natural heritage of Mexico. The event is also designed to promote culture, art, and conservation tourism. It encourages economic activities that are derived from the sustainable use of natural resources.

The goal is to create a peaceful space, especially for our youth, that is full of cultural activities and conservation in order to strengthen the bonds of peace and brotherhood that unite us.

Event Activities

The cost of the event is only $10 pesos per day. There will be numerous activities during the festival including:

  • Workshops on the cultivation of orchids
  • Exhibitions and craft shows
  • Organic food vendors
  • Artistic, cultural, and music events
  • Photography contest
  • Fashion shows
  • Workshops for peace education

Location – How to Get There

Morelia is in central Mexico. You can book a flight to Mexico City Internation Airport, then buy a round ticket bus to Morelia, Michoacán. The safest and fastest buses are Autovías.
