Mexico has 68 officially recognized “indigenous groups” who are identified by their native languages. It is time to end the myth of Columbus and pay tribute to the native people who inhabited the “Americas”. This month, Mexico and Spanish countries celebrate the “Día de la Raza” in tribute to their native cultures. Rather than Halloween, the Mexican tradition is to celebrate the “Día de Los Muertos” (Day of the Dead) from October 31st – November 2nd.
