Quality Education for the Global Family

Today, schools and universities in all countries in the world are redesigning their educational models. Times have changed and it is necessary for schools and classrooms to evolve. Now, with technology, education is without boundaries and classrooms can be without borders.  Students can connect and have the opportunity of working together to transform their world into harmony.

For the past 40 years, Instituto Lizardi, has served the Zihuatanejo, Guerrero community offering quality, bi-lingual (Spanish and English) education from preschool through high school levels. The institute is accredited by the Secretary of Public Education (Secretaría de Educación Pública)  and affiliated with  UNAM (Universidad Autónoma de Mexico)

Now, using the unique UNOi technology, the educational opportunity at Instituto Lizardi is available to families throughout Mexico and around the world. The institute currently has students in Querétaro, Cancun, even in France!

UNOi Technology

The UNOi platform and educational system allow both teachers and students to follow the official classroom program by using their mobile devices. Parents can also follow and participate in the learning experience. Instituto Lizardi has been working with the UNOi platform for the past six years. This system is used by students from preschool to middle school.

Teachers, students, and parents follow the official classroom program using their mobile devices.

A Message from the Founder/Director

Leticia Gomez Vaillard Founder/Director

“We have been implementing the processes to respond to the demand in global education for a decade. We are an institution with a comprehensive education, where arts and technology have a predominant place.

We seek to educate in the culture of respect and tolerance with a gender vision where girls are valued and enforced and where they learn that they have equal opportunities in a ‘macho’ culture that has traditionally excluded women from public life for years and confined them in their homes. We seek an institution where the rights of all living beings are respected. Our classes are bilingual and multicultural. All students, in the end, are expected to be able to express themselves in oral and written English fluently and correctly.”

Results of Your Investment

Education is an investment in the future of your children. Results are the most important aspects of Instiuto Lizardi. Watch this video of high school students using their Zoom platform to interact and practice their language skills, playing the “Price is Right”.

Students who have participated in UNAM projects have received several recognitions, and many have received scholarships from Mexico’s most prestigious universities.

Instituto Lizardi student, José Brothers received recognition from the state governor for his achievements in the National Mathematics Olympics.

International Programs

Middle school and high school students at Instituto Lizardi actively participate in a UNAM (Universidad Autónoma de Mexico) program called Simun, which is a model of the United Nations. Students act as ambassadors and attend Assemblies to represent the interests of several countries in varied discussions.  Participating students have traveled internationally, even to Assemblies in Cuba.

Instituto Lizardi also actively works with May Peace Prevail on Earth International™, a global foundation that designs peace education programs for communities and youth. The school participates in the foundation’s art and youth essay programs, and in 2020, it was the first school in the state of Guerrero to have a Peace Pole Monument.

Fumi Johns Stewart, Executive Director of May Peace Prevail on Earth International™ (right of the pole); Deborah Moldrow, the foundation’s (retired)UN Representative (next right);  along with guests from the Peace School in Chicago; the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Task Force of Southfield, Michigan; and other international peace representatives attended the inauguration of the Peace Pole at Instiuto Lizardi in February 2020.
