February 14, 2019

Traditionally, this date has been celebrated with Cupid, chocolates, and special dinners for your sweetheart. But now, in Mexico and many other parts of the world, people are stopping to remember a great leader and champion of liberty and human rights, President Vicente Guerrero, who was executed on this date in 1831.

President Vicente Guerrero, who was of African descent, abolished human slavery in Mexico and fought for a new order of equality and dignity for all people.
