On September 8, 2018, UNESCO’s International Literacy Day will be celebrated around the world. The theme for 2018 is “Literacy and skills development”. Although progress has been made throughout the world, literacy challenges persist, and at the same time the demands for skills required for work, evolve rapidly.

One of the United Nations goals for sustainable development is to improve literacy around the world. The development of literacy and skills will ultimately improve people’s life and work and contribute to equitable and sustainable societies.
