Welcome to Imagine-Mexico.com
In 1997, I left a marketing management career in the USA and moved to Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, Mexico, to conduct doctorate research on models for sustainable economic development. Technology and the Internet were emerging, so it was an excellent place for my research. I started consulting with government officials and local businesses and taught at high schools and universities.
I discovered that tourism professionals and students lacked English reading materials. In 2010, I began writing and publishing this digital magazine as an English teaching tool for them. Initially, Imagine-Mexico included articles only about Zihuatanejo, but it grew as I learned more about Mexico’s history, culture, and people.
For the past 14 years, we have written and published ten articles each month. The magazine receives over 4 million visitors yearly, has 2.3 K Facebook followers, and distributes a monthly newsletter to over 2,000 subscribers. Some articles have been read by over 40,000 people! Wow!
It’s time to retire. This edition is the last monthly publication. The website will remain up; you can always visit it to read and enjoy the many articles.
From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely thank all the teachers, researchers, community leaders, musicians, artists, and others who have contributed to this publication. I will never, ever forget you.
And to our readers…. We hope that you continue to enjoy our work and labors.
With love,
Patricia Ann Talley, “Retired” Publisher & Editor
