“Sun & Fun” in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Guerrero
This month, we are featuring the tropical beach destination of Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, located on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. Named after President Vicente Guerrero, the state of Guerrero is full of rich history, diversity, and culture.
Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, located in Guerrero, is an example of this rich Mexican tradition. Known as “two destinations in one,” the Municipality of Zihuatanejo combines the old traidtional fishing village of Zihuatanejo with the modern resort area of Ixtapa.
National & International Travel Companies & Media Visit for “Sun & Fun”
In January, over 60 national and international travel companies, like Apple Vacations, Expedia, and Hotels.com, visited Ixtapa Zihuatanejo for a few days of “Sun & Fun” to become more familiar with the area. The event was organized by the Hotel Association of Ixtapa Zihuatanejo.
It was a spectacular 3-day event that included tours and activities throughout the Ixtapa Zihuatanejo destination – a trip to the pre-Hispanic museum; shopping in town; “Pirates’ Night” on Ixtapa Island; and an evening on the Zihuatanejo Pier.
