Tuesday, Feb. 5th, 6 p.m. – Grand Kick-Off Party at Barracuda Bar in Zihuatanejo. Live Auction at 7 p.m. Come get a T-shirt, sign up for events, make friends, and benefit the kids. Live music.
Wednesday, Feb. 6th Morning – Pursuit Race. A fun race in and out of the Bay. Crew spots available. Benefit Concert Party at El Pueblito Restaurant in Zihuatanejo, 6:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Hear outstanding local and international musicians.
Thursday, Feb. 7th, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. – Chili Cook off and Street Fair on Cuauhtémoc Street in front of Barracuda Bar in Zihuatanejo. Come judge the chili and buy local crafts. Silent Auction, 2 to 5 p.m. Live music follows.
Friday, Feb. 8th, 9:00ish – 2:00pm – Sail Parade around Zihuatanejo Bay, then to Ixtapa and back. The fleet “dresses ship” for a colorful procession. Sign up at Barracuda Bar in Zihuatanejo to sail aboard one of the boats for a donation of $300 Pesos.
Saturday, Feb. 9th, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Kids’ Beach Day. Beach Party and Games Day at Playa La Madera in Zihuatanejo. Fun for 100 kids and all with games, beach volleyball, coconut toss, sand castles, tug-of-war and more!
Sunday, Feb 10th, 4:00 -6:00 p.m.- Wrap-up Beach Party, Awards and Raffle Drawings at Playa Principal in Zihuatanejo. Selection of food by local restaurants, great raffle prizes and fun for all. Food tickets are $100 pesos donation.
Throughout this event, buy $10 peso raffle tickets for a huge variety of thousands of dollars in great prizes, all donated by local merchants to benefit children’s education. Draws held during major events.
Thursday, February 14th – PRESIDENT VICENTE GUERRERO MEMORIAL / DAY OF LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP (VALENTINE’S DAY): Many people around the world will be celebrating Valentine’s Day by spending special time with loved ones and friends. Restaurants and resorts throughout Ixtapa Zihuatanejo will have special dinners and celebrations. February 14th is an important day in Mexico’s history that is not celebrated. On February 14, 1831, Mexico’s second president, Vicente Guerrero, was executed at the hands of his enemies. Vicente Guerrero was a general in Mexico’s War of Independence, he helped write the country’s constitution, and he eliminated slavery during his presidential administration.
