Life has its special moments – times you will never forget. And, for educators like me, spending quality time with young people is especially rewarding. Recently, I was invited to Universidad Autónoma de Guerrero (UAGro), Zihuatanejo’s tourism university, to join in a festival celebrating all of the holidays during September and October. Since you couldn’t be there, we’re sharing these moments with you!
First, the occasion – not that we really need one! In Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, we have festivals every Sunday in our downtown square. But, during this season, there is Independence Day (September 16), the International Day of Peace on September 21, International Tourism Day on September 27, and Día de la Razas (Day of the Races) on October 12. So, it’s a PARTY!
The students gathered for a morning of fun with the professors.
They prepared tacos, fruit sticks, beverages, etc. What a Global Feast for Peace!
There was Line Dancing!
Got to have a singer! All the girls swooned…
Then, the students challenged the teachers to dance. Ha! We told them, “We taught YOU!”
Hope you enjoyed our festival!
